About the Artist
Sheila Netti
Designer
Sheila’s interest in jewelry began quite innocently as she looked
for unique jewelry that would fit her professional career but
would provide a way of expressing her individuality. It became
apparent rather quickly that she could not find what she was looking
for and decided to teach herself the art of jewelrymaking. Sheila
began taking metalsmithing classes at a local community college
and courses at the Gemological Institute of America. Little did
she know that it would blossom into a business.
Sheila has always been drawn to nature. Her collections are inspired
and drawn from her love of the ocean and her days spent backpacking
in the Redwoods. The Redwood forests of Northern California and
the Pacific coast serve as key inspirations and themes for her
jewelry which consist of flowing lines, feminine curves and elegant
twists.
Sheila combines techniques taken from her study of traditional
metalsmithing, fused glass, sculpture and ceramics. She uses a
wide array of pearls, unusual gemstones, fine and sterling silver,
and gold in her work.
Sheila specializes in custom designs particularly engagement
rings, bridal jewelry and creating one of a kind heirloom pieces
for her clients using their own collection of gemstones.
Sheila is a Certified Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and Art Clay
instructor, member of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers
of America (MJSA), and on the board of directors for the Women’s
Jewelry Association-San Diego Chapter.
